PETG is the material of choice for printing high-performance parts that demand excellent durability along with temperature, moisture, and chemical resistance. Engineers and designers use PETG to produce durable prints with speed and agility that can withstand industrial applications, including functional prototypes, jigs and fixtures, and end-use parts.
Key Features
High Durability: PETG offers excellent durability, making it ideal for high-performance parts.
Temperature Resistance: Withstands high temperatures, ensuring reliable performance in demanding environments.
Moisture and Chemical Resistance: Provides superior resistance to moisture and chemicals, enhancing the longevity of printed parts.
Versatile Applications: Suitable for functional prototypes, jigs and fixtures, and end-use parts.
Specifications
Spool Type
The Smart Spool™ technology provides valuable information, including material type, colour, and remaining amount, via an RFID chip directly to MakerBot Print. Additionally, a desiccant within the spool maintains a low moisture level inside the drawer bay, ensuring optimal material quality.
Specialty Material User Note
Specialty materials provide basic print performance and can require additional workflow steps to print successfully. PETG requires the application of an adhesion stick to the build plate prior to printing.
Material Data
Moisture Resistance (ISO 62):1104 ppm
Heat Deflection (ASTM 648):70°C (158°F)
Flexural Strength (ISO 178):69 MPa (10007 psi)
Flexural Modulus (ISO 178):2050 MPa (297,327 psi)
Tensile Strength at Yield (ISO 527):50 MPa (7251 psi)
Store PETG in a cool, dry place to prevent moisture absorption form the air. Long-term exposure to humidity can compromise material quality and performance. Ensure the material is stored properly to maintain its integrity.
