High-Stiffness & Glass-Filled Precision for Industrial Engineering
Rigid 4000 Resin is reinforced with glass to offer a high modulus and a smooth, polished finish. With a tensile modulus of 4.1 GPa, it is significantly stiffer than standard or tough resins, making it the ideal candidate for thin-walled parts that must resist deformation under load. On the Form 4, it achieves exceptional dimensional stability and prints up to 3x faster than pervious generations.
Key Features
-
Glass-Filled Rigidity: Provides a high modulus (4.1 GPa) for parts that require high stiffness and minimal deflection.
-
Polished Aesthetic: Features a unique, smooth-to-the-touch finish that mimics the look and feel of high-end consumer electronics and glazed ceramics.
-
Thin-Wall Stability: Unlike standard resins, Rigid 4000 maintains its shape in thin-walled sections, preventing warping or "droop" during and after the print.
-
Exceptional Dimensional Accuracy: Specifically tuned for the Form 4 to ensure high-tolerance fit for jigs, fixtures, and mechanical assemblies.
-
Enhanced Heat Resistance: Offers a higher heat deflection temperature (HDT) than standard resins, making it suitable for parts exposed to moderate thermal stress.
Ideal Applications
-
Thin-Walled Enclosures: Stiff housings for electronics that require a premium, polished feel.
-
Manifolds & Fluidics: Rigid, high-tolerance components for gas or liquid delivery.
-
Jigs & Fixtures: Dimensionally stable manufacturing aids that resist wear and deformation.
-
Turbines & Fan Blades: Aerodynamic components that must maintain their profile under high-speed rotation.
-
Connectors & Brackets: Structural components requiring high strength and zero-flex.
FAQ
How Does this Compare to Rigid 10k Resin?
Rigid 4000 is the "balanced" rigid material. It is very stiff but still retains some impact resistance. Rigid 10k is significantly stiffer but more brittle, intended for extreme industrial environments and mold inserts.
Does it Require Special Tank Maintenance?
Because this resin is glass-filled, it is important to shake the cartridge vigorously before use to ensure the particles are evenly distributed. For the Form 4, it is compatible with the standard Form 4 Resin Tank.
