More Shipping Information

Is there free shipping?

Yes, we have free shipping set as the default for any order over $200.  The service is tracked Canada Post Expedited and we insure the package up to 50% of the value of the package. For a fully insured solution, please look at our affordable Flat Rate options. We recommend that large, expensive 3D printers be shipped under the flat rate shipping method. Some provinces are excluded from this offer at certain price levels.

Some items are excluded from free shipping because they require complex shipping options. This will be indicated on the product page. You can contact us for an estimated shipping quote. If you purchase these products we will contact you with the shipping cost before finalizing your order.

*Unfortunately we cannot offer Free Shipping to the Northwest Territories.

What does your flat rate shipping mean?

CAD Micro uses flat rate shipping to subsidize shipping and insurance costs to you.  3D printers are a heavy item and we have arranged specialized 3D printer insurance policy with our carriers so while the shipping costs are high, our customers are fully protected no “ifs and buts”.  We cap the costs to you depending on the weight class of the printer you purchased and we subsidize all shipping and insurance costs beyond the flat rate.  All 3D printers ship via  FedEx Standard/Expedited and the average shipping cost for Large 3D printers with full insurance is around ~$80-230 but we cap it at $10-70.

What service do you use for shipping and what is the lead time?

CAD Micro generally ships all in stock orders out by the next business day.  It gives us time to verify all the shipping and payment details and gives us enough time to package each shipment carefully.  All 3D Printers ship via FedEx Standard/Expedited.  Usual delivery time is 1-3 days.  Parts and Filament orders will ship out via Canada Post Expedited with usual delivery times around 1-4 days except when purchased with a 3D printer in which case we will ship both packages via FedEx.

Shipping Estimates From Toronto

These charts provide the best estimate on when your package will be delivered. It is expressed in business days, meaning holidays and weekends are not included in the count. It takes into account standard shipping times as well as our experience in tracking packages to particular locations. Leave extra time if the delivery point is located outside of major metropolitan areas, door to door may not be available if you live in rural areas. If your order is fully in stock and placed before 2pm EST, we will be able to ship out that day for most services. Duties and Taxes are the responsibility of the receiver in the United States if applicable.

Once the package has been released to the courier or postal service, CAD Micro is unable to make any changes to the shipment. It will be up to the delivery service to meet the posted estimated delivery times, service guarantees are according to the policies of the individual carrier and the purchaser agrees to those terms as they select the service offerings. CAD Micro will make every effort to expedite your shipment or liaise with the carrier should any problems arise but are not responsible for missed delivery dates by the carrier. Should you require guaranteed service, please arrange with our staff local or same day courier pickup using your own account and service so you may file a claim against the carrier should they miss your guaranteed deadlines.
